The Hideaway Lounge, open daily on I-77 at Beckley, is southern West Virginia's No. 1 alternative club and a favorite retreat for travelers visiting the Winterplace and New River Gorge areas. If you're looking for a safe, low-key atmosphere in which to converse with friends and meet like-minded people, you've found the place. Though we welcome gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered as well as  straight members, we're not a glitzy dance club nor a seamy taproom. Rather, you'll find a welcoming, unpretentious atmosphere full of friendly folks and other out-of-state visitors.

Safety & Convenience

The Hideaway is located in the midst of Beckley's largest lodging and dining area, at Interstate 77's exit 44, within walking distance of 12 hotels and four 24-hour restaurants. As we're an alternative club that welcomes gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered as well as straight members, our atmosphere is one of great tolerance, and violent or aggressive behavior is  immediately remedied.

From the Fayetteville area:  Follow the U.S. 19 expressway 20 miles south to I-77, then follow I-77 four miles south to exit 44. Off the exit ramp, turn left onto Harper Road (W.Va. 3 East), then turn right after 100 feet into our parking lot. Look for the lighted pink Hideaway Lounge sign.

From the Winterplace area:  Follow Interstate 77 north 16 miles to Exit 44. Turn right off the exit onto Harper Road (W.Va. 3 East), and we're the first building on the right. Look for the lighted pink Hideaway Lounge sign.

From the Lewisburg area:  Follow Interstate 64 west 34 miles to Interstate 77, then follow I-77 north four miles to Exit 44. Turn right off the exit onto Harper Road (W.Va. 3 East), and we're the first building on the right. Look for the lighted pink Hideaway Lounge sign.
